YouTube visionOS App Debuts From Google Promising Up To 8K Videos For The M5 Vision Pro
A big hole in visionOS software has now been filled with an official app.
Google launched an official YouTube app for visionOS today.
The app is described as “A spatial YouTube” promising the “full, signed-in experience” including the ability for Apple Vision Pro M5 owners to watch videos at up to 8K resolution.
The app is free here.
Here’s the full description from the store page:
Experience your favorite YouTube channels, videos and creators in extended reality. The YouTube app turns every video on the platform into a spatial watch experience.
Experience YouTube like never before:
Explore every video on YouTube, from 3D 360 and VR180 videos to standard rectangular videos and Shorts
Get the full, signed-in experience that lets you view subscriptions, playlists, watch history and more.
Enjoy videos in 8K (Apple Vision Pro M5 only)
See and hear it all:
Immerse yourself in full 360-degree videos that put you at the center of the action
Videos stay front and center so you can enjoy a lean back experience
Hat tip to Pieter Montoulieu for noting this on Bluesky.
