Valve Acknowledges Limited Memory & Storage Availability For Steam Frame & Machine: 'Our Goal Of Shipping All Three Products In The First Half Of The Year Has Not Changed'

Valve acknowledged the Steam Machine and Steam Frame are still planned for the first half of the year, but noted in a post that “limited availability and growing prices” for memory and storage led them to “revisit our exact shipping schedule and pricing.”

The company confirmed it had hoped to have provided both shipping and launch dates by now.

First noted by Viewport 360, the post from Valve includes some answers to frequently asked questions about the Steam Frame and other hardware projects on the way.

“We have work to do to land on concrete pricing and launch dates that we can confidently announce, being mindful of how quickly the circumstances around both of those things can change,” Valve’s update noted. “We will keep you updated as much as we can as we finalize those plans as soon as possible.”

Valve promised further updates to the site in the build up to launch.
